National Sea Rescue Institute Print E-mail

The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) in conjunction with Hermanus Metro EMS will be hosting demonstrations over the four day festival period.

 

The main attractions will feature at 12:00 on Saturday 26 September at the Old Harbour and visitors can look forward to a rescue of a capsized dingy and casualties brought ashore at the old harbour where the survivors will be treated by Metro rescuers.

 

The next scenario will be a daring rescue of a victim suffering a cliff accident. Metro Rescue will absail to the casualty – treat the casualty and NSRI will recover the casualty from the sea and he will be transported back to the Old Harbour for the necessary medical assistance.


The third rescue involved a hypothermic canooist who will be rescued by NSRI and treated by Metro EMS.
